Will crown lengthening procedure affect in having an implant?

Thursday, November 5th, 2009
Q.
I had a crown on my front incisor, next to big tooth, and the tooth broke at gum level. I have had a root filling and a post put in with a temporary crown. My dentist wants to do a crown lengthening procedure and fit a new crown. Is this the best solution and will it affect my being able to have an implant if there was a problem with the tooth in the future as I understand they remove some bone? Thanks

Abnormal crowded bottom teeth need a makeover for a better smile

Thursday, November 5th, 2009
Q.
I have quite severe overcrowding in my lower teeth leaving the front 4 quite crooked, one in particular which is pushed back behind the others. My top teeth are also slightly crooked but nowhere near as bad as the bottom. It has left me miserable and embarrassed to talk or smile. I am 30 years old. What would be your recommended treatment, how much is it likely to cost, and are such treatments usually payable by a payment plan? Thank you.

Is bridge treatment the answer for my jaw gap?

Thursday, November 5th, 2009
Q.
I have a gap on my bottom jaw. The 2nd tooth never grew when I was growing up. My dentist says I could have a bridge but I am reluctant to have good teeth either side filed down. The gap is not very big but is annoying and the tooth from the upper jaw is growing downwards to fill the gap. Would an implant work? I had an implant for a bigger missing tooth on the uppper jaw which is great but this gap is smaller.

Need a reasonable and honest dentist

Thursday, November 5th, 2009
Q.
Hi, I have had problems with mt teeth for many years after being on stroids as a child. In April I had my entire top set of teeth taken out in preparation for implants, I lost confidence in my dentist after many issues. The final straw was when after quoting verbaly that it would cost in the region of £8-10k, he then after extractions quoted 15k!! I have no real idea of the correct price and am getting quotes. I live in Derby and would like to find someone I can trust/within a reasonable travelling distance and at an honest price. Can you advise/support? Thanks for your time.

Cost for reconstructing my teeth following periodontal disease

Thursday, November 5th, 2009
Q.
I am about to start looking for a dentist to do some reconstructive work on my teeth. I am about to lose many teeth due to genetic periodontitis. I am willing to have some existing teeth pulled if it makes the procedure easier – I do not hold out much hope for most of them. My preferred option would be bridges secured by implants, if possible. Can you advise me of the options I may have and the cost implications of same.

Can my two inverted front teeth fixed by braces?

Thursday, November 5th, 2009
Q.
I’m thinking about getting a brace as my two front teeth are inverted, i beleive this was caused by my wisdom teeth putting pressure on them (I have since had all my wisdom teeth removed) I would like to know if a brace could fix them and make them straight, how much it will cost, and how long the procedure will take and what type of braces involved. If you can get back to me with the above information I will be very grateful.
