What is the difference between a veneer and a crown?

Q.

Hi There Dr,

I wanted to ask you, What is the difference between veneers and veneers? and which 1 is more beneficial?

Im very inconfident about my smile, even though, I dont have bad teeth or smile(Alhamdulillah), but the thought of having veneers or lumineers placed and giving me that perfect smile I want would be my dream come true.
The other question was, If i wanted to have this done? could I spread the cost over a period of time or is it a ‘one of payment’

Id appreciate a reple soon

Thankyou,

Take care,

The composite on my front teeth is wearing away, should I get veneers instead

Q.

I have a growing concern about my 2 front teeth, which have had for a long time now, ‘grooves’ – I’ve been told through brushing too hard. I’ve had them filled with composite a number of times, but the most recent time, the dentist actually drilled into the grooves to make them bigger (?!) I hadn’t had this before (but naturally I trusted the dentist, seeing as I know nothing about it), and although the teeth looked good for the past 2.5 years, they are now beginning to wear away as composite does, and I’m concerned they are going to look even worse if I don’t get them filled in again. That’s why I’m not considering porcelain veneers. Would porcelain veneers in this case be the best option, knowing that I will need to keep paying to have them filled in anyway? And is it really ‘usual’ to drill the grooves further to fill them with composite. I’m really worried this has ruined my otherwise very straight and very white teeth.

many thanks for your help,
