My denture is hideous and affects my speech, why wasn’t I offered a bridge as an alternative?

Wednesday, April 13th, 2011
Q.

I’ve just had a denture fitted to replace 2 missing teeth which are cloese to the front. It looks and fels hideous and it affects my speech. I know it will take some getting used to but I was never offered the choice of having a bridge. Is there any reason why?

Will I be aware of a new bridge?

Q.

I need to have a bridge to replace a single front denture that I no longer fits well. My dentist recommends one which is fused to metal bands. This sounds very awkward and uncomfortable – will I be very aware of it ?

A.
No, not if it’s done well.

Hi Kailesh I wonder if you could help? I had bridgework and veneers fitted approximately three years ago. The insurance is just about to come to an end but I can’t seem to find dental insurance that will cover the cost of cosmetic work. Can you help me please?,
