My midline and my bite are off centre and I can’t afford metal braces. What is the next best thing?

Wednesday, August 25th, 2010
Q.
hi, my teeth are in a bad way. when i was younger my baby teeth werent coming out and my adult teeth were begining to grow on top of them, so i had a mass extraction of my teeth but unfortunately they left an extra tooth in the top arch making my teeth shift to the right and an extra tooth in the bottom arch making them shift left. the result is my midline is off and so is my bite. I cant afford metal braces but that is what has been recommended. what is the next best thing?,

My daughter has a severe underbite and I would like some advice on what the best course of action would be. Can you help?

Monday, August 16th, 2010
Q.
Dr Moore, My 7 year old daughter has a very severe underbite – can you please advise what’s the best course of action for us to take. We consulted a dentist previously who advised that nothing can be done until she has her adult teeth. What kind of treatment can we expect then to remedy the problem., and how successful will it be? Should we seek the advise of a specialist orthodontist now? I would be very grateful for any advice.,

My son doesn’t have any canine teeth, why is this?

Wednesday, July 21st, 2010
Q.
My son is 9, and lost his primary teeth early, and had his adult teeth in very early also. I have just noticed this evening that while he is 12 lower jaw teeth, all the right ones, in his upper jaw, there are no canines on either side, and no room for them as his pre-molars are right next to his incisors. Why has he no canine teeth, and why haven’t the various dentists he’s seen over the years noticed or said anything about this? He has special needs, and could this be any sort of congenital or chromosomal abnormality? I’m worried!,

My daughter’s adult teeth aren’t coming through yet, should I be concerned about this?

Tuesday, July 6th, 2010
Q.
My daughter lost her first baby teeth at 4.5 years old. None of her adult teeth have replaced them very quickly. She lost her two front baby teeth two years ago. One adult one has grown fine, but the other one took a year before it started to come through and then stopped growing! It is about half the size of her other adult tooth. I have mentioned it to two dentists who do not seem overly concerned, but it doesn’t feel right!! She has lost both teeth either side (some time ago) and no signs of them growing either. Am I worrying for nothing or should I seek a third opinion? thanks,
