Tuesday, October 6th, 2009
Q.
I have a huge phobia of needles and because of it have very bad teeth, i have had to have 10 removed under general aneastetic (gas induction because of my phobia) and have had an abcess that spread to my sinus and apparently almost killed me. Because of this I was wondering whether it is possible to have a full clearance under general aneastetic with a gas induction and how much this could cost me?

Is there any alternatives for veneers for my darkened front tooth

Tuesday, October 6th, 2009
Q.
Hi i’ve got a darkened front tooth, that came out about 22 yrs ago, i pushed it back in myself, it has started darkening over a period of some yrs and is now looking bad especially in photographs where it shows up very bad i don’t like smilling for photos anymore. My last visit to my dentist told me that it was a lack of oxygen getting to the tooth that is the problem but he would not take it out or crown it as it was still healthy otherwise. i would love to get it capped or have a veneer over it but how can i go about getting it done, privately would seem the answer but the cost is off putting, are there any other alternatives to this ? how can i persuade my dentist to do the work for me ? any advice would be good

How much roughly composite bonding would actually cost me?

Friday, October 2nd, 2009
Q.
Hello there. I would just like to know how much roughly ‘composite bonding’ would actually cost me. I havnt been to a dentist in years, but i think im in need of serious attention as my enamel is showing through, badly…and its knocking my confidence. My front tooth is also quite mishapen, and im not after ‘perfect’ teeth, just a bit to help me smile again!

Can you advice me over having conventional bridge or maryland bridge

Wednesday, September 30th, 2009
Q.
Hi there, I’ve been to my dentist and was pondering over having a conventional fixed bridge or a maryland bridge – I have one missing front tooth. Both treatments cost £1,800 each. The dentist says for the maryland bridge, the reason why it’s that much is that it’s made from lava material. I just wanted to get a second opinion on the price because I thought that a maryland bridge was cheaper than a conventional bridge. Please advise. Thank you.

I may need get a bridge for my missing teeth what would be the cost of the job

Wednesday, September 30th, 2009
Q.
Hi Just to give you a background of my teeth; I have had my 2nd Molar removed a few years back due to decay which unfortunately infected the 1st molar. The 1st molar has now broken up and needs to be taken out at the root due to extensive decay. i understand it is hard to do a diagnosis without an appointment; however from what I can see, I may need a bridge to cover the missing teeth. My concerns are the size of job needed, the use of General anesthetic and the potential cost of the job.

What is the procedure to fix my discoloured white filling?

Saturday, September 26th, 2009
Q.
When I was younger I chipped my tooth so went to my local dentist and they gave me a white filling that was fine until recently when it became discoloured. What is the procedure for fixing this problem? Will the old filling need to be removed and replaced or can this old filling be whitened? I know you will have to treat each case individually but what is the usual procedure? I am currently 16 and have had this filling for about 7 years.

Should I get my decayed molar teeth extracted now

Saturday, September 26th, 2009
Q.
I am due to have my upper left molar extracted next month at the dental hospital under IV sedation. I was referred there by my dentist due to the tooth being too badly decayed underneath the filling to have root canal treatment on it. As it is causing me little or no pain at the moment I would like your advice as to whether I could wait until it does cause me pain and have it extracted then or would this just make things worse? Also, I am concerned about the gap it would leave behind and would like to know my options regarding this, as neither my dentist nor the dental hospital have discussed this with me. Thank You
