i wanted 5 crowns and got a 5 unit bridge

Tuesday, September 23rd, 2008
Q.
I was recently quoted for 5 dental crowns on my upper front teeth and a bridge between two of the teeth. When they went to install the crowns it turned out they made one big bridge. Is this something that is normally done? I am concerned Im not getting what I paid for because I paid for 5 individual crowns?

my maryland bridge keeps falling out

Sunday, September 21st, 2008
Q.
Hi Dr.Glaister I am now 32years and I sing in public! I’ve had Braces for Three years from 2000 – 2003 because my Canine teeth were next to my front teeth! After the space was made between my front teeth and Canines Maryland Bridges were placed! They fall out almost every month since! This is very frustrating, tell me, what do you recommend? Should I do the Traditional Bridges because implants are way to costly for me? Help!!!!!!!!

is a cerec better than a normal bridge

Thursday, September 11th, 2008
Q.
I have a broken tooth requiring a bridge & another tooth also needing a bridge. I am advised a CEREC replacement would be better than a normal bridge.I realise the CEREC replacement is more expensive but it can be done in a single visit but I am concerned that the CEREC is a proven & reliable long term alternative. Are there any facts to back up the claims CEREC is good for 20 years. Thank you

I was in a lot of pain after a temporary bridge

Thursday, September 11th, 2008
Q.
Six days ago I had my two upper front teeth pared down on the sides and bottom of the teeth (as they were long) and a temporary bridge fitted. I am due to go back on September 2nd to have permanent half crowns fitted. A day after having the temporary bridge I was in a lot of pain and developed a slight temperature. I ended up going to my local minor injuries unit. The doctor said he could see no signs of infection and gave me strong painkillers (which did not really help). I went back to my dentist who removed the temporary bridge, cleaned it and refitted it with a different bonding substance. This relieved the pulling and tugging pain but the temporary was still digging into my gums and my bite was slightly out. I went back the same evening to have the top of the temporary smoothed down to stop it cutting into my gums. However, I still felt uncomfortable about the bite. Yesterday, the dentist fitted temporary crowns in order to alleviate the problem. Although the bite feels ok with the right tooth, the left tooth still is resting slightly on my lower teeth and in the past 10 hours I have developed a severe sore throat (really hurts on swallowing). I do have a natural slight overbite with my top jaw. I am at a loss as to what to do now and dont know where to turn. I tried to get a second opinion from my regular dentist but she has refused to get involved. I am now getting very upset, worried and depressed and am constantly trying to reposition my bite and have to keep doing this by opening my mouth for a few seconds and I am wondering by trying to do this adjusting all the time if it could be causing the sore throat – two glands under my chin are swollen.

Dental implant or bridge for missing tooth im from california

Tuesday, September 9th, 2008
Q.
Dr. Rob, I’m undecided whether to have a dental implant or a bridge on tooth #19. I had a root canal in 97 and retreat in 98. I’m a grinder, and wear a mouth piece. Ijust had a cap put on # 18 due to a re-filling and large crack. I take excellent care of my teeth. I had braces. My bite is off a bit. I’ve tried to do extentsive research of both implants, and bridges. One site was Failure of dental implants, and that scared me, so I started looking into bridges. I’ve been to 1 dentist, who constiuning insists I get a bone graft and tooth implant, for $12,000. At this point, I’m not sure what to do. Would so appreciate you imput. I live in California. Thank you.

using super glue to stick my bridge back gives me a trout pout

Thursday, July 24th, 2008
Q.
I had my three teeth at the front bridged, which was fine, but it only lasted for about a year, the spikes broke ,they are still in my gums now. i am using super glue gel to stick them back in, my dentist went back to his own country(Sweden)I saw another Dentist and was told i would have to pay £1175. to have another bride done, as i receive disability allowance this is impossible to find, or i can have a plate made free, this is something i am not keen on as a few years ago i was told by a dentist that he thinks i will be one of these people that will be unable to have false teeth, i don’t know why may be it is because i have a very small mouth (yes it is true i have honest)i really don’t know what to do other than keep on with the super glue, which gives me a trout pout as my lips and some time tongue swell up any way thank you
