i would like an alternative to veneers to straighten my teeth

Wednesday, March 11th, 2009
Q.
My teeth are not straight and i would like an alternative to veneers as i have been told my teeth are unsuitable for them, due to the fact that too much of the healthy tooth would have to be shaved down. Can you suggest an alternative with almost instant results. Many Thanks

Do you recommend mini implants to stabilize dentures

Do you recommend mini implants to stabilize dentures if there is not enough bone for conventional implants for upper teeth

my back top teeth are turning black

Thursday, March 5th, 2009
Q.
A few years ago I noticed my back top teeth turning black and slowly move forward. It starts on the bottom and a little hole gets bigger. I brush and floss and I feel its not helping. I also have a broken back tooth. My dentist says hell have to extract them after my fills work off. I am 24 and do I need false teeth such as dentures? Are there implants avail for my teeth? If so are they made straight and white?

can veneers be replaced

Monday, March 2nd, 2009
Q.
Good morning Dr Bohara I hope this is a fairly simple question to answer….can veneers be replaced? I had 8 veneers fitted to my front teeth approximately 6 years ago and have been very pleased with them. However on a recent visit to my hygienist she slightly chipped a small part from the top of one of the veneers. My dentist has made a repair but the compound? has not stayed in so at the moment I feel there is an unsightly black piece evident when I smile. My dentist has suggested that it might be easier to replace the veneer with a crown as it is sometimes difficult replacing the veneer, is this correct, as I would much prefer to have a replacement veneer? I have read that veneers usually last 5 – 10 years, so what do other patients do when they have problems such as mine? I would appreciate your comments. Many thanks

One of my bottom teeth is crooked

Monday, February 23rd, 2009
Q.
Hello! I am worried about my teeth. One of my bottom tooth is crooked and the top one is slightly pushed forward. I have all 4 wisdom teeth coming through which are impacted as there is not enough room for them to come through. My dentist says that removal is not an option at present as there is not signs of infection which apparently is within accordance of the NICE Guidlines. I am very self conscious about it but really do not want general anesthia to remove them. What would be my options? Thanks

i had a crown fitted that needed to be drilled down

Friday, February 13th, 2009
Q.
I had a porcelain crown fited yesterday. The dentist was checking my bite and said when I close my teeth together, the crown should not sit ‘proud’ because this would damage the crown. He drilled off the excess of the crown in order for it to sit correctly. This unfortunately means, I have a crown and from underneath the metal post is clearly visible. I am worried about this. Should I have cause for concern? Can the crown be replaced if I am not too happy about the metal post showing through. The tooth in question is at the side of my mouth. Six tooth in from the front. I would value your advice please.
