I have teeth gaps do your teeth get filed down to pegs for veneers
Q. I have gaps in my top set of teeth and have always wanted to be rid of them and have an even gap free smile. I have been browsing the web to see that this problem is more often than not gotten rid of with veneers however I was under the impression your own teeth get filed down to mere pegs for the veneers to be fitted please can you confirm if this is the case, thank you.

If your teeth are in relatively good alignment then veneers can be a very minimally invasive treatment when carried out by a dentist who has been trained in Cosmetic procedures.
If you think of a veneer as approx. 0.5 mm thick then this is the amount of reduction from the front of the tooth in order to make room for the veneer – yet the end result will be a smile of your design with no gaps in a relatively short time.

However it is important to note that braces can also be used to achieve closure of gaps

i want my two front teeth filed down at the front, they are quite big an im really consious about them, i also have gaps which i would like filled in and my teeth whitened, i really need this doing but need to know prices could you give me some sort of clue of how much it would cost
