I have a horizontally impacted wisdom tooth, should I have it removed?
Q.
I AM 23 YEARS OLD AND JUST VISTIED THE DENTIST TODAY AND FOUND OUT I HAD A HORIZONTALLY IMPACTED WISDOM TOOTH, WOULD IT BE WISE TO REMOVE IT NOW AND WHAT IS ALL INVOLVED WITH THAT, IS IT A COMPLEX SURGERY OR WHAT IS THE PROCESS?
I REALLY DO NOT LIKE GOING TO DENTISTS OR DOCTORS MUCH, WHAT WOULD BE YOUR ADVICE ON THE MATTER

Hi and thanks for the question
Hi and thanks for the question
What has your dentist advised? Wisdom teeth do not always have to be removed, even when impacted. It’s a matter of weighing up risk vs benefit as removal of them can sometimes carry greater risk of complications than leaving them in situ
I’d seek a second opinion from another dentist and/or their oral surgeon to see what they say
Hope that helps

Can i have my old molars pulled out to give way for my wisdom tooth? my old molars are awful.
Wisdom teeth do not always grow into the ideal place you would need to see your dentist and have an assessment
