What can I do about an infection in my three-tooth bridge?
Q.
I have had my 3-tooth dental bridge for 16 years. Now I have an infection above the first tooth of bridge-where I had one prior to having the bridge and for which I had an Apicectomy at that time. Can I undergo another apicectomy if nec. (oral anti-biotics failed to treat it) and have another bridge?
Thank you

Hi
Good question. Often when an apicectomy fails , any further surgical treatment does not have a good prognosis and can be futile to attempt it. With the predictability of dental implant treatment these days it is often considered a better long term treatment option. I’d advise you to seek the advice from a dental implant expert on your best course of action
