Welsh Dental Hospital Forced to Turn Patients Away Due to Burst Pipe

Sample News Big

A dental hospital in Wales was forced to turn patients away after a burst pipe caused flooding. Patients who were due to attend non-urgent appointments at Cardiff University Dental Hospital were contacted and informed that their appointments had been cancelled on Monday 12th September, after a water pip burst on the second floor of the building.

Director of operations for the Dental Clinical Board at the Cardiff and Vale University Health Board, Hayley Dixon, said there was no choice but to cancel non-emergency appointments and all patients had been made aware of the situation. Plumbers were called to the hospital immediately and the board made every effort to minimise disruption. A decision was taken to cancel non-urgent appointments to protect the health and safety of patients and staff members. The burst pipe had caused localised flooding on the second floor and the situation required immediate action.

The hospital, which is located at the University Hospital of Wales, remained open for urgent appointments and the board apologised for any inconvenience caused.
