Seven new dental clinics set to open in Chennai

The Mayor of Chennai has announced that seven new dental clinics will open in the city in the near future.

Mayor Subramanian announced that clinics will open in the Basin Bridge, Ayanavaram, Kilpauk, Nungambakkam, Pulianthope, Mylapore and Saidapet areas of the city.

Mayor Subramanian said that the new clinics would make dental care more accessible and improve dental care across the city; currently, standards of oral health are very poor in many areas of the city and rates of decay are high. In a recent survey, around 74 percent of students were found to be suffering from oral health problems.

Mayor Subramanian said that oral health was a problem in the city and officials are working alongside dentists to try and improve access to dental care and encourage people to take better care of their teeth and gums.
