Members of the dental team from a Salford practice have visited primary school children to teach them about the importance of good oral hygiene and show them to brush their teeth properly.

Dentist Miebake Adikibi and dental nurse Julie Lane from Simon Taylor Dental Practice paid the children at Summerville Primary School a visit, to teach them about oral hygiene and choosing healthy foods that are good for your teeth and gums.

Miebake and Julie brought some props with them, including giant teeth and large toothbrush. The children, who were aged between 4 and 5 years old, were encouraged to practise on a toy pony before popping on a dentist’s uniform and practising on their friends. The interactive session was informal and fun and children were encouraged to ask questions so that they could find out as much as possible and return home ready to give their teeth a good clean that evening.

Julie said that the children were really well-behaved and they got involved in the session and participated in the activities with great enthusiasm. The team left the props behind, so the kids can get practising and perfect their brushing technique.
