Staff members at the oldest dental practice in Redditch have celebrated a landmark occasion, as the surgery recently reached its 70th year in business. Redhouse has been serving local dental patients for seven decades.

The team marked the achievement with a party, which was attended by staff, previous employees and current and former patients, including former mayor Madge Tillsley MBE. Madge praised the dedication of the team, lauding their kindness and commitment to making patients feel comfortable and relaxed. Speaking at the event, Madge wished the team many more years of success and encouraged them to keep up the good work.

Practice principals Drs Dinesh and Sarbjit Phakkey have been running the practice for almost 17 years, after taking over the reins from the late Dr Dev Khosla in 1990. Since they started running the business, they have expanded, and introduced new services, much to the delight of Mrs Khosla, who said it was an honour to see the practice still going strong.

Since 1990, Dr Phakkey said that more than 31,000 people have come through the Redhouse doors and the team is delighted to be part of such a warm and vibrant community.

Many of the patients attended the celebration and the dentists paid tribute to them and thanked them for their loyalty and support over the years. The Phakkeys also thanked their team for their continued hard work and for their ongoing efforts to provide an excellent service to the people of Redditch.

Refreshments were served, guests were treated to a slice of cake and a live band, Dr Teeth Big Band, took to the stage.
