Members of an award-winning dental team have reported an increase in the popularity of treatments designed to improve the aesthetic of the smile, particularly among businessmen and women.

Practice manager of the Priors Dental Practice, Lindsey Edwards, said that there has been a significant increase in the number of patients seeking dental treatment to improve the look of their smile and there has been a noticeable rise in the number of people working in business and sales undergoing treatment.

Lindsey said that many jobs now involve more face to face contact and this has prompted people to ensure that their smiles look appealing in a bid to create a positive first impression. Studies have also indicated that employers are more likely to offer jobs to people who smile with confidence and those who are well turned-out.

The practice recently won the Best Orthodontic Practice in the UK award at the Private Dentistry Awards and the team has noticed changes in the ages of patients and the type of treatment they are booking in the last few years. With image more important than ever, it is not unusual for the team, which is lead by Mark Emms, to see patients in their 40’s, 50’s and 60’s, enquiring about orthodontic treatment.

Now, people realise that there is no age limit on caring about your looks and more and more adults are turning to orthodontic treatment to improve the look of their smile. With modern treatments offering discretion, speed and comfort, patients have a wide range of options and they get the smile they want without having to deal with issues that put patients off in the past.

The Priors Dental Practice is a family business, which has been treating the people of Penkridge and beyond for more than 20 years.
