Mount Airy Clinic to Offer Free Treatment as Part of Dentistry from the Heart Campaign

A dental office in Mount Airy is giving local people something to smile about in the new year with a free clinic scheduled for Saturday 10th January.

Free dental treatment will be provided on a first come, first served basis at the office of Dr John L Gravitte between 8am and 5pm on Saturday. The clinic is part of the Dentistry from the Heart programme, which runs across America. The charity encourages dentists, nurses and hygienists to give up their time and offer their skills for free once or twice a year to help those in need.

Office administrator, Melissa Russell, confirmed that a range of routine treatments, including extractions, fillings and cleaning treatments, would be available. The clinic is open to adults and children.

This will be the first time the clinic is participating in the Dentistry from the Heart scheme and the team is excited to welcome patients to the office. There were plans to run the clinic in December, but they were put on hold due to relocation. The new space allows the team to treat more people, so it was worth waiting.

Dr Gravitte will be joined on the day by fellow dentists Dr Laura Phelps and Dr Angela Cassar as well as two other volunteer dentists and a team of nurses and hygienists. Registration for the clinic will begin at 7.30am on Saturday. Ms Russell advised patients to get there early to avoid disappointment.
