ITV’s Andrea McLean Shows off New Braces to Support Son Finlay
ITV presenter Andrea McLean flashed some brand new braces last week in a show of support for her teenage son Finlay. The Loose Women presenter decided to get braces after her 14-year-old son was advised to have orthodontic treatment.
Speaking about her new braces on the chat show, Andrea explained that she was advised to have braces during her teenage years but opted to go without because she already felt self-conscious about her appearance. At the time, she suffered with acne and said the last thing she wanted was to have “unsightly” braces fitted.
When her son had his braces fitted, she told him he was really brave and felt that she was being hypocritical, so decided to take the plunge and have her own braces fitted. She joked that they can now be “brace-faces” together.
After the show, Andrea shared a selfie with her son and thanked viewers for all their positive comments about her new look.
Andrea is the latest in a string of famous faces who have chosen to have braces to correct orthodontics problems and create a more attractive smile. One Direction’s Niall Horan, Brooklyn Beckham, Justin Bieber, Gwen Stefani, Miley Cyrus, Holly Willoughby and Tom Cruise have all had braces.
