Hingham dental nurse reveals plans for Uganda trip

Sample News Big

A dental nurse from Hingham has revealed plans to visit Uganda later this year as part of a volunteer project run by the charity Dentaid.

Sarah Drew, 35, will be visiting Uganda in September, and she has already started raising funds for the trip. Sarah will be part of a team of ten nurses, dentists, hygienists, and therapists, and will spend two weeks in the African country.

Sarah needs to raise a total of £2,100 to book her place on the trip, and she is now coming up with ideas for a series of fundraising events in the months ahead. Sarah started saving with a gingerbread display at Sandringham Café and Restaurant, and she has also set up a page for donations at mydonate.bt.com/fundraisers/sarahdrew1.

Sarah has worked as a dental nurse for 18 years, and she was incredibly keen to volunteer when she heard about the opportunity. She knows that the experience will be challenging, but she also hopes that it will be life-changing in positive ways. Very few people in Uganda have access to dental care, and charity efforts make such a difference.
