Ground-Breaking New Clinic Opens in Leeds
A ground-breaking dental clinic has opened in Leeds. IMI Clinic Leeds is the only practice in the UK to offer Perioblast technology.
The clinic, which was officially opened by Miss Leeds, is the brainchild of clinician Dr Francesco Martelli. Dr Martelli claims that claims that the innovative technology will change the way periodontal disease (advanced gum disease) is treated in the city. Currently, periodontal disease is “managed rather than treated” and many people end up having teeth removed.
Perioblast technology is a state of the art laser treatment that has been pioneered by Dr Martelli himself. The aim is to protect the teeth and gums by tackling issues related to the supportive bone structure. Treatment targets pathogens, which reduces inflammation and enables the soft tissue to recover. The method has no negative side-effects and only a short course of antibiotic treatment is required.
Dr Martelli specialises in periodontal treatment following implant placement. The new clinic is located on Boar Lane in the heart of Leeds City Centre.
