Durham Dental Team Completes Charity Challenge

A team of Durham dental workers has completed a charity trek across Hadrian’s Wall to raise money for Help the Heroes.

The team of eight, which was made up of dentists, dental nurses, a dental student and two receptionists from Durham City Smiles, completed the 26 mile walk earlier this week.

The team raised a total of more than £1500 and they reached the end of the wall in less than eight hours, supported by a host of family and friends.

The charity, which provides support for injured soldiers, veterans and their families, is particularly close to the hearts of both dentists, Graeme Dentith and Stuart Cox, who both have naval backgrounds.

Dentist Graeme Dentith said that the trek was difficult but well worth it to raise a fantastic amount of money for Help the Heroes, a charity that makes a real difference to soldiers who have been injured in action and their families.

Graeme said that the group supported each other along the trek and thanked all their friends, relatives and patients for their support and donations to the cause.
