Dentist offers free cancer screening tests
A British dental clinic is attempting to raise awareness of mouth cancer by giving patients a chance to get screened for free.
Twenty 2 Dental, of Milton Road, Weston-super-Mare, is running the scheme to support Mouth Cancer Action Month, which takes place during November.
More than 5,000 UK people are diagnosed with mouth cancer every year and
2,000 die. That means that someone dies every five hours due to mouth cancer.
Mouth Cancer Action Month will host a series of events aimed at encouraging Brits to get tested, have regular check-ups and perform frequent self-examinations.
Research has shown that early diagnosis can improve chances of survival in half of people by at least 90 per cent.
Twenty 2 Dental are inviting everyone to the clinic for a free screening in November, even you aren’t register with the surgery.
Dr Andy Denny, the face of Twenty 2 Dental said it was vital that people became aware of the risks of mouth cancer and encouraged them to regularly check themselves.
