Pupils from St Elizabeth’s Catholic School in Foleshill, Coventry, were treated to a fun and informative session on dental hygiene, provided by a local dentist.

The children took part in all sorts of fun and educational activities, which were designed to teach them about the anatomy of the teeth, show them how to take good care of their teeth and gums and enable them to understand why good oral health is important.

During the day, students made clay models of the teeth, took part in quizzes and coloured worksheets to expand their oral health knowledge and gain a better understanding of why it is so important to take good care of the mouth.

The event took place in the school hall and the children had great fun. They also learned a lot and were full of new nuggets of information, which they were eager to share with their parents and siblings. After the session, parents and children were given leaflets and information sheets and the visiting dentist took time to speak to them, answering questions and providing them with advice related to dental health issues.

The visit was arranged by the school’s learning mentor, Beth Jackson, and everyone involved said it was a great success.
