Comfort Dental Offices to Offer Free Dental Care on Christmas Eve

Members of staff at Comfort Dental are getting into the Christmas spirit by volunteering their time on Christmas Eve. Offices up and down the US will be offering free dental treatment for people in need in time for Christmas Day.

Care Day will kick off at 7.30 am and every Comfort Dental across 12 states will be providing free dental care on a first come, first served basis as a gesture of good will.

The programme started in 1984 when the Denver office ran a free clinic at Christmas time and has grown rapidly. Last year, nearly 5,000 people received dental treatment free of charge.

Dental teams will be providing a range of services, including fillings, extractions, cleaning treatments and routine check-ups during the day and thousands of people are expected to benefit from the scheme again this year.

As appointments are allocated on a first come, first served basis, dentists are urging people who would like to get involved in Care Day to arrive early to avoid disappointment. In previous years, there have been people queuing outside offices hours before they opened.

Care Day provides a valuable opportunity for people without dental insurance and those on low incomes to get the treatment they need. Polls and surveys show that millions of people across America struggle to afford to see a dentist on a regular basis and free dental clinics have become extremely popular.
