Children’s Dental Event Held in Ramsey

Sample News Big

A health event was held at Ramsey Town Hall on the Isle of Man at the weekend, to try and raise awareness of the importance of oral health and get children involved in oral hygiene.

The event was designed to be fun and exciting for children, as well as putting across the serious message of oral health. A host of activities, including arts and crafts and face painting, were available to enable children to enjoy the day as well as learning valuable information about dental hygiene and healthy eating.

The government released a new Oral Health Strategy last year to try and improve standards of oral health among children after figures revealed high rates of decay on the island.

Grainne Burns said that it was important to get children’s dental health on the agenda. Grainne is the chairman of the Northern Multi-Agency Team, which was responsible for organising the event.
