Chelmsford Dentist in Critical Condition After Being Hit by Ambulance

A dentist from Chelmsford is in a critical condition after being hit by an ambulance attending a 999 call.

Police have confirmed that 77-year old Dr Michael Daly was hit by the ambulance as he was crossing Main Road in Danbury on Tuesday 4th February. Dr Daly had just left his practice, Oasis Dental Care.

Dr Daly was first hit by the ambulance as he was crossing the road and as he fell, he was caught by another vehicle. Paramedics tended to him immediately and he was later airlifted by the air ambulance to hospital in London.

Police have confirmed that Dr Daly is currently in a critical condition at St George’s Hospital in Tooting. His wife and two children have been visiting him on a daily basis and patients and colleagues have sent their good wishes. He is currently in a coma and doctors are working to try and stimulate the brain and assess the level of damage.

Dr Daly has worked in Chelmsford and the surrounding area for many years and is a popular member of the local community.
