Bidwill Gears Up For Annual Free Dental Event

Sample News Big

The residents of Bidwill, New South Wales, are preparing for the opening of an annual free dental event that has made a positive difference to hundreds of people.

John Dacey, community minister, has encouraged those on low incomes, the unemployed, refugees and pensioners to get in touch and register for the clinic. It aims to help those who can’t afford to see a dentist and is open to adults in St Mary’s and Druitt.

Over the course of a weekend, the event provides around $35,000 worth of free dental treatment, enabling those who would otherwise go without dental care to get the treatment they need. Feedback from residents who have made use of the clinic before has been incredibly positive and organisers are hoping to build on past successes this year.

The event will take place over the weekend of the 3rd and 4th September and volunteers will be based at Blacktown Youth College. The team is hoping to treat around one hundred patients.

The event is organised by Bidwill Uniting in association with the Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation.

A range of services including fillings, cleaning treatments and extractions will be available over the weekend.
