Scottish First Minister, Alex Salmond, has visited Aberdeen dental school as part of his campaign trail.

The First Minister visited the brand new, state of the art facility for the second time this year, as he stressed to health professionals and members of the public that he would protect NHS services and invest further in NHS care in the coming years.

The new dental school, which cost 20 million pounds, is located at the Forsterhill Hospital. The dental centre was commissioned to tackle the shortage of dentists, which according to Salmond, was the legacy of the previous Labour government.

Visiting the dental school, Alex Salmond highlighted the recent figures released by the NHS in Scotland; the latest figures show that the number of patient registrations has increased significantly in most parts of the country and there has also been an increase in the number of dentists working in Scotland.

Mr Salmond is campaigning ahead of the Holyrood elections, which are due to take place on the 5th May.
