David qualified as a dental surgeon in 1988 from the Newcastle University Dental School. After qualifying, he returned to East Yorkshire to work in a forward looking practice in Hull. In 1990, he accepted a partnership at Newell, Pinder and Vivian, which became one of the most prestigious practices in Yorkshire before joining the James Hull Group. David still works at the practice on a part-time basis, providing the implant services he also offers at practices in Cottingham and Scarborough.

David has worked alongside Rob on implant cases since 2002. Their training and career paths have led to complementary skills in the fields of implant, restorative and aesthetic dentistry.

David has over 20 years of experience in dental implants, and he has placed around 4000 of them during his career. His key training courses include the prestigious Eastman Step by Step Course 1996-1997 and training on prosthetic aspects of the Branemark system 1993.

Since 1993, David has been a member of the Society for Advancement in Anaesthesia in Dentistry, and he has been a member of the Association of Dental Implantology since 1996. He has always been active within the British Dental Association and is a former president of the Yorkshire Branch.
