    Question What would you recommend?

    First off, hello.

Secondly, I'm in need of some advice on what could possibly be done to correct my front teeth.

When I was younger, I had an accident which knocked the front baby tooth out. As a result of that, the new one coming through (#1) grew outwards.

For some reason, the next tooth along (#2) decided to hide behind the one that grew outward. #3 is also a root filling from a later accident (n/a?).

I had a temporary brace fitted but this didn't seem to help and caused immense pain. I believe my mouth was/is too small for the teeth to be alligned properly & naturally. Both my mother and brother developed overlapping front teeth as they aged.

So I'm just wondering what sort of cosmetic options are out there that you recommened and I could use?

    Thanks.

Attached a photo from a slight side angle if that helps...

    Dear Mac,

from the photo you have provided I would say it would be best to consider braces of some form. I understand that you have concerns as previously these have been unconfortable for you. I can reassure you that most modern braces are generally comfortable.

Without a full consultation it is difficult to advise exactly which system would be best, but premilinary thoughts go to Six Month Smiles due to the tooth movements required.

Certain braces are good at some tooth movements but struggle with others, however this appears to be ideal for Six Month Smiles. Again I would like to stress the point that you would need a full consultation to confirm this

    I hope this helps

    Thumbs up

    Thanks for the reply.

If I were to go for the braces option, would it be possible to have them out of sight (behind the teeth) like the following? Or is this only in special circumstances? Tricky to do compared to traditional braces?

That is certainly an option, but it is extremely difficult and often uncomfortable to do! You would need to find a specialist who would be happy to do this for you. Studies have shown that these types of braces cause more discomfort as the brackets rub on your tongue significantly more

    I hope this helps
