A dental team from Yeovil has raised hundreds of pounds for charity by completing the Race for Life.

The female members of staff from Princes Street Dental Care completed the 5 kilometre run at Sherborne Castle in aid of Cancer Research UK. Race for Life is a national event, which aims to raise money for women affected by cancer. Every year, thousands of women dress up in pink and complete the run in various locations all over the country to raise awareness of cancer and raise funds, which are spent on research to find treatments and services to provide care and support for people diagnosed with cancer.

Penny Bettany, practice manager, said that it was a last minute decision for the team to take part in the race and the ladies only signed up two weeks ago, but everyone had a great time and the cause is something, which is very close to a lot of the team’s hearts. Penny suffered from breast cancer and said that she understands just how important funding research projects is and everyone was happy to take part in the run and raise valuable funds for Cancer Research UK.

The team raised a total of £400 and thanked patients, colleagues and friends and relatives for their generous support.
