Woodford Bridge Dental Practice Launches Kids Club To Combat Decay

Sample News Big

A dental practice in Woodford Bridge has launched a kids club to try and combat high rates of dental decay in the area.

The Bluebell Dental Practice held its first kids club meeting on Saturday 1st February and plans to host the Saturday Kidz Club on a regular basis. The practice decided to act after figures from Public Health England revealed that rates of tooth decay are extremely high among 5 year olds living in the local area.

The club aims to teach children and parents about oral hygiene and healthy eating. Children will be encouraged to take part in games, quizzes and activities to learn about brushing their teeth, the importance of good oral hygiene and which foods to eat for healthy, strong teeth. The sessions are laid back and fun and everyone will be encouraged to get involved and have lots of fun. The dental team will also be on hand to answer questions and speak to parents about dental check-ups.

Dr Suki Shakhti, one of the practice dentists, said that the recent figures highlight the importance of educating children about oral health at a young age. The practice is trying to make oral health fun so that children are more inclined to make an effort with their teeth cleaning and learn about how their diet impacts their oral health.
