A dentist from the Wirral has won a prestigious prize for his achievements in his short career.

Dr Simon Wright, 32, was named as the best young dentist in the North West at this year’s Denistry Awards.

He was presented with the gong at a prestigious ceremony in Leicester in front of 500 of his peers.

Speaking of his achievement, Dr Wright, who is an acting partner at Glencairn Dental Practice in Bebington, said that he was delighted to even be nominated for the award and described winning the honour as “brilliant”.

A panel of judges selected a final shortlist and winners from nominations made earlier in the year for each of the nine regions in the UK.

Dilys Quinlan, dental modernisation manager, claimed that Dr Wright, who is also a one of NHS Wirral’s General Dental Practitioner Leads, deserved the award because of his proactive boundless energy and added that he was a real asset to North West dentistry.
