Will Schools Ban Sweets?

Sample News Big

Vending machines containing sweets should be banned from schools. This is according to the Irish Dental Association. It has been advised that soda, crisps, and sweets that are purchased from such machines lead to both obesity and dental caries. This has been confirmed by both local and international research studies. Dr. McCafferty feels that these machines should be restocked with healthy beverages and snacks. More than 75% of 15+ year olds have dental caries in some of their adult teeth, and approximately 33% of these individuals have had some type of tooth wear that has exposed the dentine surface of at least one adult front tooth.
