Why Visiting A Dentist Could Save Your Life This November

A dental practice in Evesham is encouraging members of the public to see their dentist this November in a bid to save lives.

The Evesham Dental Health Team is offering free mouth cancer checks throughout November to try and raise awareness of mouth cancer, a deadly form of cancer, which is affecting more people in the UK than ever before.

The practice has decided to run free screening sessions after previous checks lead to diagnoses. The most important point dentists are trying to get across is the importance of early detection, as most cases are being diagnosed when the disease is advanced and there is high risk that cancer has spread to other parts of the body.

Principal dentist, Richard Colebourne, said that dental practices have an important role to play in supporting the British Dental Health Foundation in their quest to raise awareness of oral cancer. As a member of the Mouth Cancer Foundation, the surgery is eager to raise the profile of mouth cancer and encourage as any people as possible to attend a screening test.

The screening checks are available to all and you can book an appointment by calling the practice on 01386 422833.
