The leader of the Welsh Green Party has pledged to provide free dental checks for everyone in Wales as part of her new election manifesto.

Alice Hooker-Stroud has unveiled a series of policies and measures in a bid to attract voters in the upcoming elections. Although the Green Party is renowned for its environmental policies, Ms Hooker-Stroud was eager to point out that the party offers a lot more than initiatives designed to promote greener living.

In addition to free dental examinations, the Green Party would also ensure that eye checks were available free of charge. The party has also pledged to increase spending on dementia care and introduce an Autism Act to protect people who have autism from social anxiety and isolation.

The manifesto also mentioned the creation of the new, affordable housing and investment in employment opportunities, particularly for young people. Party members have also promised to make residential areas safer, with more 20 mph speed zones and promote healthy living by introducing a minimum price for alcohol and restrictions on advertising.

In the Welsh elections, voters will be given two votes and the Green Party are hoping to secure a record haul.
