The University of Portsmouth is hosting a public meeting about its prestigious dental academy. The lecture will enable people to learn about the planning and construction stages and gain an insight into the day to day running of the school.

The talk, which is entitled ‘Policy, Practice and Power: Creating a Dental Academy’, will be presented by Professor Sara Holmes, founder of the centre.

Established in 2010 in Southsea, this is the first centre for dental professionals to be based at a UK university.

Professor Holmes will be talking about the strategic planning and development of the centre and the local and national roles of the academy.

The lecture is open to all and there is no charge. Refreshments will be served afterwards. The talk takes place on Wednesday 25th March from 6pm until 7pm and anyone who is interested is advised to register online at eventbrite.co.uk. The lecture will be held at the Portland Building, which is located on Portland Street in Portsea. Professor Holmes will also be taking questions.
