More than two thousand new NHS dental places have been created in Burnley, Lancashire, after two dentists joined the Ravat and Ray Dental Care practice.

The practice, which is located at The Fold Centre for Integrated Health and Wellbeing, is inviting new patients to register after two new dentists, Dr Nitika Virmani and Dr Ilyaz Uddin, joined the team. It is estimated that around 2,500 extra places will be available.

Dr Virmani qualified in India almost a decade ago and moved to the UK in 2006. She undertook additional training and is looking forward to treating the people of Burnley. Dr Virmani said that local people are lucky to have NHS dental care on their doorsteps and encouraged anyone who is not registered with an NHS practice to contact the surgery.

Dr Uddin graduated from Manchester University last year and is eager to raise awareness of the importance of a healthy mouth, not just for good oral health, but also for good general health.

Health bosses at NHS East Lancashire said that there was currently no waiting list in Burnley and invited patients from outside the area to register with the practice if they are not currently registered with a surgery.

Ravat and Ray Dental Care is a modern dental practice, which is equipped with all the latest instruments and technology to provide patients with exceptional standards of dental care.
