Viewers of last night’s 10 Years Younger programme saw a mother-of-five have a complete smile makeover.

The episode (shown on Channel 4 at 20:00 BST on May 27th) featured 38-year-old Amanda, who members of the public guessed to be an average age of 46.

After years of drinking 20 cups of tea with two-and-a-half sugars in and smoking 20 cigarettes a day, her teeth were in urgent need of repair.

On the programme, she was treated to 11 fillings, followed by new crowns and veneers, reported the Daily Record.

The cosmetic dentistry treatment was just part of the complete makeover, which also involved plastic surgery on her eye bags, a full facelift, a nose job and a chemical peel.

Amanda also had her hair and makeup done as well as fashion tips from presenter Nicky Hambleton-Jones.

Following the makeover, the average age the public guessed was 35.

The British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry has stated that the rise in popularity of veneers is due to their prominence on television makeover shows.ADNFCR-1374-ID-18613311-ADNFCR
