Tributes have been pouring in for popular Hereford dentist, Bob Binnersley, who has passed away.

Staff at St Martin’s Dental Practice shared the sad news in a post on Facebook. Bob founded the St Martin’s clinic in 1989 and was an active member of the local community. The business evolved from a small surgery based in a detached house to a seven-surgery practice, which boasts a dental nurse training facility and serves thousands of patients.

In a touching tribute to their former boss, team members said that Bob and his wife, Krista had created an “amazing place to work” and had brought smiles to patients for decades. Bob was known for his infectious laugh and his cheeky sense of humour and could often be heard reassuring nervous patients with his customary greeting, ‘A check-up from the neck up, it won’t take long!’

As well as taking his career in dentistry very seriously, Bob was also a keen cricketer and would often have games on in the background at the surgery, asking the nurses to keep an eye on the score for him. The couple was also famous for hosting memorable fancy dress parties and Bob was passionate about environmental matters, most notably protecting local communities against flooding.

Bob is survived by his wife, Krista and their children, Richard, Rachel, James and Thomas. In the social media tribute, the team added that his legacy will live on through the dedicated staff at St Martin’s. He will be sorely missed by colleagues and patients alike.
