A global team of collaborators comprising dental experts, computer scientists and engineers have developed a new 3D tooth brush using advanced technology and materials. Blizzident, as it is called, gives a 3D teeth brushing experience within six seconds. To clean teeth, the person simply bites onto their custom-made Blizzident, grinding their teeth for six seconds.
The tooth brush is custom-made, tapering to the gum line for a perfect oral fit. Designed to completely clean the teeth on the upper and lower dental arch within six seconds, it comprises around 600 fine bristles uniquely placed to suit each individual’s teeth brushing needs.
Computer aided design (CAD) technology prints the 3D object with a person’s unique oral dimensions using stereo lithographic techniques. Stereo lithography uses an ultraviolet laser to shape liquid plastic into 3D design.
The bristles work to stimulate oral movements for chewing and biting functions. The goal of Blizzident innovators is to improve teeth brushing, oral hygiene practice and oral health. Individuals who do not enjoy using a manual or electric toothbrush may find the alternative a more attractive way to maintain oral hygiene.
