Titchfield Dental Team Flies High for Charity

Three members of staff from Titchfield Dental Health have completed a charity sky dive. The trio leapt out of a plane at 10,000 feet to raise money for the Joe Glover Trust, a cause close to their hearts.

Receptionist Kerrie New, practice manager Sharon Nanson and senior nurse Anne Scholey scaled the heights and overcame their fears to complete the adrenalin-pumping challenge and raise more than £1,500 for the charity. The trust supports children affected by cancer and provides support for their families. It was set up in 2007 by the parents of Joe Glover, who sadly died at the age of eight after developing non-Hodgkins lymphoma.

The practice has supported the trust for many years now and the charity is close to their hearts. Principal dentist Clare Chavasse’s son was treated for leukaemia ten years ago and was on the same ward as Joe. Since then, her son Andrew has made a full recovery, but the staff continue to support the charity and also the Piam Brown Ward at Southampton General Hospital.

The intrepid trio decided to do the skydive because they wanted to push themselves and do something that was fun and would provide them with long-lasting memories. Sadly, Clare was away at the time of the sky dive, but she supported the ladies and made a donation to the trust.

The team has already raised more than £1,500 and donations are still coming in.
