Tewkesbury Woman Seeking Compensation from Council after Dental Injury

A woman from Tewkesbury is seeking compensation from the council after she tripped on and uneven pavement and damaged her teeth.

Paulina Cooper, a shop worker, broke her teeth after falling on uneven paving at a pedestrian crossing near the shop where she works. Paulina was wearing flat boots at the time and claimed that the uneven paving stone on the crossing had forced her to tumble and damage her teeth. She said the incident, which happened at around 2pm on December 17th, had happened very suddenly and that she said she didn’t even have time to put her hands down and suffered grazes to her knees and cuts on her lips and face, as well as dental injuries.

Mrs Cooper is now seeking compensation from the council and claims that the state of the pavements is “absolutely disgraceful”. She added that she had been assured that the uneven paving slabs on the crossing would be sorted, however, work was taking much longer than promised.

The council has refused to comment on the case so far, but a spokesman said that individual claims are not discussed in public, but would be investigated by the council and it would be decided whether or not the council has stuck to its obligations to provide safe roads and pathways for residents.

Mrs Cooper has so far spent £400 on dental treatment for her four damaged teeth.
