Staff members from a dental clinic in Teesside have swapped Christmas cards for donations to a local foodbank to make a positive difference to those in need. Instead of sending Christmas cards to patients this year, the team from Queensway Dental has made a donation to Billingham Foodbank.

The foodbank provides supplies for those who are struggling to make ends meet, and it plays a vital role in supporting individuals and families that can’t afford to buy groceries. The Billingham Foodbank, which operates in association with the Trussell Trust, also hands out essential items such as toiletries.

Members of staff from Queensway Dental, which is made up of the Skin Clinic, Queensway Dental Laboratory and Queensway Orthodontist, gathered together a collection of non-perishable food items, toiletries and dental supplies to donate to the foodbank. Every year, the practice does something to support local charities, and owner, Dr Paul Averley, said that working with the foodbank was an excellent opportunity to make Christmas more enjoyable for those who don’t have much. The charity does an amazing job, and it really makes a difference to local people who are finding life tough.

Billingham Foodbank project manager, Jill Coyle, said that it was a great pleasure to have Queensway Dental on board for another year, and thanked everyone involved for their kind donations. With the help and support of local businesses, like Queensway Dental, charities like the foodbank are able to target those who can’t afford the basics and make Christmas that little bit less difficult.
