Teenager suffers dental injuries after being attacked by a cow
A teenage girl needed urgent dental care after being attacked by a cow when walking her dog in a field in Wargrave near Reading.
Emma Gregory was walking her dog through the field when she was attacked by a cow protecting her calf; the 16 year old was airlifted to hospital but has since been discharged. Miss Gregory suffered a blow to the face and required emergency dental treatment.
Emma’s golden retriever Skipper suffered a broken back during the attack and was taken for urgent treatment; he is still recovering at the St Fitzpatrick Animal Hospital in Guildford.
In light of the attack, dog walkers have been advised to steer clear of fields containing cows and calves; animal experts say that cows are very protective of their young and this is why they may attack people who come too close.
