A dentist from Swansea has plenty to smile about after acquiring his first practice.

Imtiaz Khan has taken the reins at Russell Street Dental in the centre of the city after securing funding from Lloyds Bank. Mr Khan has used the funds to buy the practice and refurbish the building. The first step of the renovation is part of Mr Khan’s ambitious plan to revamp and modernise the practice and expand the range of services.

The practice has been up and running since the 1960s and currently has around 5,000 patients on its books. Mr Khan has already launched a raft of new services for patients looking to enjoy the latest cosmetic and aesthetic treatments and therapies, with Invisalign, veneers and facial aesthetics added to the list.

Since he took over the practice, Mr Khan has also recruited a new dental nurse, bringing the total number of staff members to ten. In the weeks to come, he is hoping to add a receptionist and a dental hygienist.

Mr Khan was given the opportunity to purchase the practice when the previous owner decided to take retirement after 35 years at the helm. Talking about the new venture, the ambitious dentist said that it was a dream come true to have his own surgery. Mr Khan has been looking for the right practice for a while and as soon as he set foot inside the building, he said he knew that Russell Street Dental was the perfect place for him.
