Academy Award winner Susan Sarandon has said she will not have Botox for fear of losing her acting skills.

The 61-year-old told People magazine that although she is certainly not against cosmetic surgery, she does not agree with extreme treatments such as "exaggerated lip plumping".

"You can see I haven’t had Botox [or] these things would be gone," she said while pointing out her frown lines.

"I can’t afford to have my face not moving."

However, Sarandon, who is in forthcoming film Speed Racer with Christina Ricci, added that she may have her pick of roles for women her age as she will be "the only one who looks 60".

For those who do choose to have Botox injections to defy the signs of ageing, David Bloom of the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentists has stated that dentists are well-equipped to perform the treatment.

Mr Bloom told the Daily Mail that the professionals are used to working with needles, anaesthetics and similar injections.ADNFCR-1374-ID-18577280-ADNFCR
