Survey Reveals a Nice Smile the Second Best Compliment for Women to Hear
A survey has revealed that a nice smile is the second best compliment for a woman to hear, coming in behind somebody suggesting a woman has lost weight.
The survey, which was carried out by Dental Care Plus Implant Centres, involved more than 2,000 men and women, revealed that most women consider someone suggesting that they have lost weight as the best compliment to receive. A nice smile came in second place, with smelling nice in third and nice hair in fourth.
Statistics show that 43 percent of women are most concerned with their weight, but 4 in 10 are most content when somebody compliments their smile. The survey showed that men are likely to please women if they make comments about a woman’s hair, smile, eyes and how nice they smell. In contrast, comments about how well a woman looks are likely to bomb, as they may be misinterpreted as suggesting that a woman is fat and suggesting somebody looks tired or off-colour is a complete no-no.
Looking tired topped the list of worst compliments, with others making the final 10 including telling somebody they look like their mum or dad, mentioning that they are broad or suggesting that they look better than normal.
The survey also revealed that most women do not handle compliments well and more than a third of women admitted to getting in a bad mood because they misinterpreted a compliment from their partner.
