Southgate Dentists To Donate Their Wages To Bridge2Aid

The dental team from a practice in Southgate is hosting two Saturday morning dental clinics to raise money for the charity, Bridge2Aid.

The team from Adams Dental are giving up 100 per cent of their earnings to the charity and the clinics will take place on the 22nd and 29th March.

Dr Adams has recently returned from a trip to Africa with the charity and wanted to make a further donation after seeing the amazing work Bridge2Aid does to help poor people who have no access to even the most basic dental services. The charity takes volunteer dental professionals out to Tanzania to help train practitioners out there so that they are able to use their skills to treat patients and also inform people about ways of preventing oral diseases.

During his two week charity mission, Dr Adams and the team of volunteers treated more than 1,300 people and trained 12 new clinical practitioners. Dr Adams said that he wanted the practice to support the charity because it has a unique aim in trying to help the Tanzanian people become more independent by providing training, in addition to dental care.

The conditions are very different to his Southgate practice, with extractions carried out under dim light provided by torches and sterilisation performed by using a pressure cooker.

Patients are to support the event by booking a Saturday morning appointment or making donations through the team’s Just Giving page or by texting SELP99 to 70070.
