Members of staff from Bright and White Dental Dental Spa,South Woodford, paid local children a visit this week to teach them how to brush their teeth properly in celebration of National Smile Month.

Toddlers in South Woodford attending Woodford Green Pre School took part in interactive and educational sessions to learn how to clean their teeth properly and keep their teeth and gums strong and healthy. During the session, kids were given giant toothbrushes and teeth to play with and they are learned about the importance of healthy eating and cutting down on sweeties and chocolate bars.

Kristy Davis, from Bright and White Dental Spa said that the children were “very receptive for their age” and they had a lot of fun playing with the larger-than-life teeth and toothbrushes.

All the children left with balloons and stickers and it was a really fun and successful event.

National Smile Month is a national campaign that hopes to generate awareness of the importance of good oral health and to encourage people to follow very simple rules to reduce their risk of decay and gum disease, which include brushing twice a day with fluoride toothpaste for at least 2 minutes each time, flossing, keeping an eye on their diet and going for 6 monthly dental check-ups.
