The team from DB Orthodontics in Silsden is celebrating after winning a business award. The family-run company was awarded the Queen’s Award for International Trade in recognition of success in international markets.

The firm, which was set up by David Burdess in 1998, is run by David, his son, Christian and daughter, Victoria. The family-run business produces a range of orthodontic and dental laboratory supplies and has distributors in 44 countries across six different continents.

The business started at Mr Burdess’ home but quickly expanded and is now based in a purpose-built warehouse in Silsden. The company is expanding all the time and directors are currently looking to recruit more staff members to cope with increasing demand.

Victoria Burdess said that it was a great honour to receive the Queen’s Award for International Trade; she added that the award represents recognition for several years of hard work and commitment to driving the business forward.

Victoria said that the family was “extremely proud” and wanted to thanks all members of staff for their hard work and dedication over the years.

Two other local firms were also awarded the Queen’s Award for International Trade, including EuroPlus Direct, based in Saltaire and Osborn Metals Limited, of Low Mills, Bradford.
